About

Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Kelsey and I love that you're here.

I'm passionate about anything and everything fitness; running being at the top of that list (I ran track for the University of Iowa; go Hawks!). I'm a graduate student in kinesiology and an assistant track coach at Grandview University, and I hope to coach and teach a little exercise physiology when I finish school! Besides running, I love cooking-I am constantly on the lookout for new recipes to try, yoga, practicing handstands, drinking coffee (preferably in excess amounts), attempting my own garden, minimum-skill-required crafts (cutoff shorts! re-covered chairs!) and laughing somewhat hysterically.

In 2013 I found out I have Celiac disease and several other food allergies/intolerances, so my cooking has definitely changed! Nearly all of my recipes are free of the following: gluten, dairy, egg, soy, nuts and legumes, but I throw in a few exceptions every once in a while (when I make some delicousness for my husband and other bread-eating friends!). I also rarely cook with gluten-free flours such as sorghum, tapioca, etc. because the blends are complex and intimidating to me; I'd rather save my money for buying loads of spaghetti squash. :)

I'm happily married to Riley and I have a cat named Rory! You'll find healthy, allergy-free recipes, workouts I've wrote and coffee-talk on this blog, along with a few made-up words. Thanks so much for stopping by; let me know if you have questions or suggestions for recipes to healthify/de-allergy (great examples of made-up words...)!
